We have been working on hedges in South Surrey and White Rock since 2007.
Hedges and shrubs are important elements in your yard. They create privacy, accent walkways, and driveways and add character to the yard and garden.
It takes a steady hand and an eye for detail to get your shrubs and hedges in the best shape possible. Some hedges are finicky and can only be shaped and reduced by a small amount to prevent damage.
Regular shaping of hedges and shrubs keeps the plants in shape and size.
While some hedges such as cedar hedging can go up to 18 months between trimmings, most require a once-per-year shaping.
Some plants such as laurels will flower if trimmed at the right time of the year.
Portuguese and English Laurels produce white fragrant flowers that fill the summer air with a cherry scent.
Boxwoods send out new growth throughout the year. At a minimum, an annual trimming is needed. Some clients enjoy seeing their boxwoods shaped throughout the season and will trim them twice.
Shaping throughout the year, boxwoods will fill in and take on a formal shape quicker.
Frequent trimming will allow you to choose either a square or round shape or decide if you prefer a hedge row.
Topiary: The art of shaping living plants into formal or informal shapes such as globes, cubes, spirals, or even animals.
